About Alessio

Flautist and wind ensemble teacher at “G.Puccini” Conservatoire in La Spezia.

After graduating at the Luigi Boccherini Institute of Music in Lucca Alessio Bacci received the Diploma ad honorem of the Accademia Chigiana where he studied with Gazzelloni and Meunier. In 1979 he became a member of the Bruno Maderna contemporary chamber group, giving concerts for the most outstanding festivals in Europe (in Italy, Greece, Germany, Albania) as well as recording for Austrian radio.   He has performed many world premiéres for flute by Sciarrino, Gentilucci, Ferrero, Morricone. He plays as first flute and piccolo in Tuscan orchestras and in chamber ensembles.

His knowledge and experience in contemporary music led him to be invited as Guest Professor at Dortmund University, Sidney Conservatoire and Saõ Paulo Conservatoire.

He is Director of the musicology magazine Tetraktys and is responsable for editing“TESORI MUSICALI TOSCANI”, a research program about XVIII century Tuscan composers. 

He has taught on the LMFL summer course in Florence since 2017.
